6. NORMAL DISTRIBUTION

In probability theory, a Normal (or Gaussian) distribution is a type of continuous probability distribution for a real-valued random variable. Normal distributions are important in statistics and are often used in the natural and social sciences to represent real-valued random variables whose distributions are not known. Here we discuss the basics of Normal distribution.

5. DISCRETE DISTRIBUTIONS

Statistical distributions can be either discrete or continuous. A discrete distribution is a probability distribution that depicts the occurrence of discrete (individually countable) outcomes, such as 1, 2, 3... or zero vs. one. The Binomial distribution, for example, is a discrete distribution that evaluates the probability of a "yes" or "no" outcome occurring over a given number of trials, given the event's probability in each trial—such as flipping a coin one hundred times and having the outcome be "heads". Another example is Poisson distribution. The basics of Binomial and Poisson distributions are discussed here,

4. RANDOM VARIABLES

A random variable is a variable whose value is unknown or a function that assigns values to each of an experiment's outcomes. Random variables are often designated by letters and can be classified as discrete, which are variables that have specific values, or continuous, which are variables that can have any values within a continuous range. In this chapter the basics of random variables are discussed. So materials that helps the study about the basics of random variables are given in this post.

STATISTICS - PRACTICAL EXAM 2021

ELEMENTARY CALCULUS - PLUS TWO STUDY NOTES

Calculus is the mathematical study of continuous change. It has two major branches, differential calculus and integral calculus. Calculus, the branch of Mathematics  was developed independently in the late 17th century by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. Today, Calculus has widespread uses in science, engineering, and economics. Study notes in English and Malayalam are prepared for reference based on the syllabus of Plus Two Statistics course. It is helpful for the beginners in Calculus
